Hyatt has unveiled a new push for its expansion in Canada, a market in which it has managed to quadruple the number of operating hotels since 2017 and in which it currently has a development pipeline of more than 40 projects. Of that pipeline, the US hotel group expects to launch 10 new properties throughout 2027, according to a statement.

Among the upcoming openings, the arrival of the luxury brand Park Hyatt on the west coast stands out with the future Park Hyatt Vancouver, which will join the existing Park Hyatt Toronto already present in the country.

On the other hand, the Unscripted by Hyatt brand will arrive in Canada thanks to an alliance with Haida Enterprise Corporation, through which the hotels "Haida House at Tllaal" and "Ocean House at Tlaga Gawtlaas" in British Columbia will be integrated.

The growth plan in the upper-midscale segment also includes the landing of Hyatt Select — conceived for the conversion of existing assets — with the opening of "Hyatt Select Kingston" in Ontario, as well as the incorporation of "Hyatt Studios", aimed at extended stays, through a dual-brand project in Prince Albert (Saskatchewan) with a 2027 horizon.

Hyatt's head of growth for the Americas, Julienne Smith, has highlighted the strength of the alliances with local owners and the adaptability of its development models, while the head of growth in Canada, Scott Richer, has underscored that 2027 will mean a historic year in number of openings for the group in the North American country.
