Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of the "Hyatt Centric Downtown St. Louis," a 142-room hotel located on Washington Avenue in St. Louis, marking the first arrival of the "Hyatt Centric" brand in the state of Missouri (United States).

The establishment is integrated into an eleven-story building erected in 1910, in Sullivanesque architectural style, which was once the headquarters of the shoe company Roberts, Johnson & Rand Shoe Company, thus preserving its historical character in the heart of the textile district.

The property is located a short distance from the America's Center convention center, Busch Stadium, and the iconic Gateway Arch, three of the main tourist and business attractions in the city.

Among its services, the hotel offers the "New American" cuisine restaurant The Link, a rooftop terrace with a pool (Expedition), a grab-and-go point of sale operating 24 hours, and more than 1,090 square meters (11,750 square feet) of versatile spaces intended for corporate meetings and social events.

The hotel's general manager, Bill Tirone, has emphasized that the opening allows for a new life to be given to a historic building in the old textile district, integrating it into the current tourist and urban offering of St. Louis.

Additionally, the CEO of the tourism promotion entity Explore St. Louis, Brad Dean, has pointed out that the arrival of the chain reinforces the role of the city's urban center and supports the growth of business and convention tourism throughout the region.
