Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has inaugurated the "Iberostar Selection Zanzíbar," a five-star complex that marks the chain’s entry into Tanzania and the start of its operations in East Africa, as the company has announced.

The launch of this resort, with 358 rooms and suites located on the beachfront of Muyuni, is integrated into the Balearic group’s strategic investment plan, endowed with €1,000 million through 2028 to drive new projects and renew assets already in place.

The establishment has six international and local cuisine restaurants, several outdoor swimming pools, a spa, a diving center, sports areas, and differentiated spaces such as "Star Prestige" for adults only and the children’s program "Star Camp" focused on the family audience.

The company emphasizes that the hotel applies sustainability and circular economy criteria in line with its initiative "Wave of Change".

Along these lines, it has provided environmental training to more than 330 employees on the island and has launched its own glass bottling plant to eliminate single-use plastic bottles, as well as working with responsible suppliers and local artisans certified with "Fair Trade".

With the addition of this property to its premium category "Iberostar Selection," the group strengthens its international presence, which already totals more than 26,800 rooms across more than 80 four- and five-star hotels located in 13 countries.
