ICEX has launched a new program together with Virtual Expo with the aim of supporting 65 Spanish companies in improving their international visibility, strengthening their positioning in the digital environment, and fostering the generation of new business opportunities with professional buyers from different countries, as it has stated in a press release.

Virtual Expo operates as a global network of specialized B2B marketplaces in the industrial field, connecting manufacturers and suppliers with professional buyers from numerous markets. It offers an environment tailored to the marketing of technical and industrial products, with detailed product listings, digital catalogs, and technical documentation that help professional buyers search for and compare solutions.

ICEX’s program focuses on three of Virtual Expo’s main platforms: DirectIndustry (industry), MedicalExpo (health and medical equipment) and AgriExpo (agriculture). These platforms combine SEO positioning, presence in nine languages, digital visibility tools, and personalized advisory services, with a dedicated account manager, which makes it possible to enhance the companies’ presence in search engines and expand their international reach, while also helping to generate qualified business contacts.

This new offering is designed to make it easier for Spanish SMEs to access international buyers through digital B2B channels, lowering barriers to entry and strengthening their presence in overseas markets. The purpose is to turn online visibility into qualified business contacts and export opportunities.

Slots, fees, and registrations

Of the 65 available places, 40 are allocated to companies that join for the first time or that improve their membership to "Expansion" (one of the subscription tiers of the platform). For these companies, "Expansion" membership is planned for 12 months, individual SEO/EEAT auditing, and specific visibility and contact-capture actions, with a participation fee of 1,295 euros.

The remaining 25 places are aimed at companies that already have "Expansion" or a higher tier. In their case, the program offers additional visibility actions and contact generation, with a participation fee of 495 euros.

Interested companies will be able to register until December 3, 2026, and the program will begin on January 1, 2027. An information webinar is scheduled for November 12 to present the product and resolve doubts from the participating companies.

These actions are integrated into the agreement signed between ICEX, Red.es and the Federación Española de Municipios y Provincias (FEMP), through the Red Española de Ciudades Inteligentes (RECI), aimed at promoting urban innovation, the digital transformation of cities, and strengthening the Spanish industry and its technological solutions in the field of smart cities.

At present, specialized B2B marketplaces are consolidating as key channels for internationalization, by facilitating access for professional buyers and improving the positioning of products both in traditional search engines and in the new search and response engines based on AI. In addition, they help reduce commercial prospecting costs and generate new business opportunities in international markets, as highlighted by ICEX.
