ING Spain closed the third quarter of 2026 with total credit investment to customers of 31.312 billion euros, which represents an increase of 7% compared with the same period of the previous year, according to the entity reported this Thursday.

"We are at the moment of greatest growth for ING since our arrival in Spain. We have closed a new quarter with solid and diversified performance, which confirms the strength of our strategy, and we are advancing in our ambition to build a more complete bank to accompany our customers in all moments of their financial life," said the chief executive of ING Spain and Portugal, Alfonso Tolcheff.

The bank has focused on the dynamism of wholesale and corporate banking. Among the most relevant operations of the quarter are the refinancing of Ontime Corporate Union, the support for Solarig for the development of new biomethane and CO2 capture infrastructure in Spain and the advisory role in the alliance between Iberdrola and BP Pulse to boost the electric vehicle charging network in Spain and Portugal.

In parallel, the entity recorded deposits worth 56.581 billion euros, 5% more on an interannual basis. The customer base exceeded 4.7 million, after adding around 151.000 new users in the last year, which represents an advance of 3%.

The strongest increases were concentrated in off-balance-sheet products. Assets in pension plans increased by 11%, to 5.293 billion euros, while investment funds grew by 17%, to reach 8.393 billion.

For its part, the funds held in custody through the broker stood at 11.987 billion euros at the end of September, which implies an interannual growth of 22%.
