Madrid will be the setting, from November 2 to 6, for the third edition of the Semana Dominicana en España (SEDE), an event that will bring together political leaders and business representatives from República Dominicana and Spain with the objective of strengthening commercial ties, attracting investment, and boosting bilateral cooperation.
The forum aims to offer Spanish businesspeople a "broader" view of the Dominican economy that goes beyond tourism and brick and mortar, at a time when the Caribbean country seeks to establish itself in emerging sectors such as semiconductors, medicines, transportation, and energy.
Within the SEDE program, a logistics, real estate, and legal forum is planned, conceived to facilitate the exchange of information and direct contact between institutions, companies, and professionals from both sides of the Atlantic.
"The event seeks to encourage new business relationships and joint projects, at a time when República Dominicana aspires to diversify its economy and move toward higher value-added activities," the organizers have stated in a note in which they also recall the Dominican Government's commitment to doubling GDP by 2036.
In the real estate section, one of the focal points will be access to first homes. Dominican experiences designed to facilitate purchase will be presented, such as "Mi Vivienda Feliz", a program with a marked social character in a market that is usually analyzed only from the perspective of investment.
Beyond its economic and institutional dimension, Semana Dominicana en España seeks to strengthen cultural ties and shared identity between the two Spanish-speaking nations.
