Mediolanum International Funds, the asset manager of the Italian group based in Dublin, has incorporated Stephen Tapley as deputy director of the 'high yield' fixed income area, as the entity itself has communicated.

With his arrival, the executive will support the development, supervision, and long-term behavior of the 'high yield' strategies that the firm manages internally.

Tapley has a 14-year career at Royal London Asset Management, where he served as Senior Fund Manager, Leveraged Finance (Global Credit). Previously, he held positions as High Yield Analyst at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership and as Investment Analyst at Gulf International Bank.

"In an environment characterized by tight credit spreads and where it is difficult to identify value across the entire credit structure, active selection and risk management are now more important than ever. Beneath the surface of many markets, there is a wide dispersion in terms of quality, which poses a challenge for managers, but also creates tactical opportunities for alpha," Tapley pointed out.
