Mexico recorded a GDP increase of 0.9% in the third quarter of 2026, driven mainly by the better performance of industry and services, according to the Timely Estimate of Quarterly Gross Domestic Product (EOPIBT) published by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

Between the months of July and September, and once the figures were adjusted for seasonal effects, the Mexican economy reduced its pace of expansion compared with the immediately preceding quarter, when GDP had risen by 1.5%. If compared with the same period last year, gross domestic product was 3.2% higher.

By sector of activity, the primary sector cut its output by 0.4% in the quarter, while industrial activity increased by 0.8% and services advanced by 1.1%. In the year-on-year calculation, agriculture, fishing and livestock recorded growth of 1.8%, manufacturing expanded by 3.1% and services rebounded by 3.3%.

Inegi detailed on October 8 that Mexico's National Consumer Price Index (INPC) ended September at 3.45% year-on-year, which meant a rebound from the 3.26% observed in August. Core inflation stood at 3.75%, that is, 13 hundredths below.
