MSC Cruises has announced the spa and wellness proposal of its new flagship, the "MSC World Asia," which will begin operations on December 4 with seven-night itineraries in the Mediterranean and departure from the port of Barcelona.
The ship's Aurea Spa will have an area of 1,260 square meters, designed based on cultural references and landscapes of Asian inspiration.
Among its facilities, there will be a training center equipped by Technogym and a large thermal area with 12 different experiences, including a sauna with panoramic ocean views, a snow room, a Himalayan salt dome, and traditional Japanese ganbanyoku beds.
The wellness area will also integrate advanced diagnostic technologies, such as skin analysis using artificial intelligence or 3D foot scanning, in addition to dry flotation therapies, whole-body cryotherapy, and Iyashi Dôme infrared treatments.
On the other hand, passengers will be able to continue their sports routine in the MSC Gym, equipped with Technogym technology, which will offer state-of-the-art equipment, areas for functional training, immersive group classes, and personalized advice to accompany each phase of their wellness experience.
The senior vice president of onboard revenue at MSC Cruises, Georg Schmickler, emphasized that the goal of this project has been to create an environment that "competes with the best wellness destinations on land," responding to the increasing interest of travelers in this type of service during their vacations.
Once it enters service at the end of the year, the ship, the third in the World Class series of the cruise line, will call at several ports in the Mediterranean, such as Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia (Rome), Messina, and Valletta.
