Telefónica Solutions of Computing and Communications of Spain has been awarded the contract to modernize the data storage and processing infrastructure of the Spanish Radio and Television Corporation (RTVE) at its data processing centers in Prado del Rey, located in Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid).

This comprehensive solution will support the management and distribution of the public entity's digital content for the next four years, according to the State Contracting Platform and has been reported by Europa Press.

The contract specifically includes the purchase of equipment —both hardware and software—, the associated licenses, the implementation of the entire infrastructure, as well as maintenance work and ongoing technical support throughout the entire duration.

The bidding was processed through an ordinary procedure via an open public competition, with a base budget excluding taxes of 6,115,000 euros.

During the process, two proposals were submitted electronically, with an economic range close to 6 million euros: the highest offer was 6,115,000 euros and the most competitive was 5,828,552 euros, both amounts excluding taxes.

After evaluating the technical and economic criteria set out in the specifications, the award was granted to the Telefónica subsidiary as it obtained the best overall score.

The final awarded amount amounts to 5,828,552 euros excluding taxes, which totals 7,052,547.92 euros including taxes.
