The Council of Ministers has given the go-ahead to an agreement that increases the ceiling of the regional incentives provided for the period 2027-2030 in the so-called "economic promotion zones", which will make it possible to mobilize up to 710 million euros.

These grants consist of subsidies for investment projects by private promoters aimed at the creation, expansion, or modernization of productive facilities located in the aforementioned "economic promotion zones", with the aim of reducing territorial imbalances.

As this is a system without competitive bidding, all requests that meet the conditions required are entitled to receive the aid, which becomes effective once the investment has been carried out and its proper development has been verified. For this reason, the authorization of the subsidies at this time implies tying up credit in the coming fiscal years in which the payments are planned to be made.

The overall commitments will reach 142 million euros in 2027 and another 142 million in 2028, as well as 212.9 million in 2029 and 213 million in 2030. Of those amounts, 75.7 million in 2027, 69.9 million in 2028, 75 million in 2029, and 62.1 million in 2030 were already committed; therefore, 66.3 million, 72.1 million, 138 million, and 150.9 million remain to be committed, respectively.
