The spokesperson for the PP in Congress, Ester Muñoz, assessed on Tuesday night in the Lower House the announcement of Óscar Puente’s resignation as Minister of Transport, noting that his resignation “arrives 116 deaths late,” referring to the victims of the railway accidents that occurred in Adamuz (Córdoba) and Urda (Toledo) in less than a year.
Muñoz intervened in the session of the Permanent Deputation of Congress held this Tuesday, in which Puente, in his final turn, communicated that he was leaving the post of Minister of Transport and also resigning as a candidate for the PSOE in the next general elections.
During her speech, the Popular Party leader again demanded Puente’s resignation, although she stressed that this decision was already being made late and that, in any case, she did not consider that it could be taken as sufficient satisfaction only with this step.
