The Executive has given the green light this Tuesday for the submission to the Court of Auditors of the General State Account corresponding to the fiscal year 2025, as detailed in the references of the Council of Ministers.

The General Account is presented as the official instrument to report on the economic, financial, and patrimonial situation, the economic-patrimonial result, and the degree of execution of the budget of the entire state public sector, as stated in the General Budget Law.

In its subjective scope, it includes both the entities that are part of the state public sector and the multigroup and associated entities. The document has incorporated 429 entities from the state public sector and 197 multigroup and associated entities.

Spain is the only country in the European Union that prepares consolidated accounts for the entire state public sector, also covering the entities of Social Security. The General State Account is thus configured as an accounting document that offers a broader and more detailed view of the finances of the public sector than that provided by national accounting.

This is because its subjective scope encompasses all entities that make up the state public sector, including those of Social Security.
