The Institute of Tourism of Spain (Turespaña), through the Tourism Department in Milan, has carried out a promotional action in the Lombard capital together with Tenerife Tourism with the aim of reinforcing the projection of the Canary Island as a destination for experiences, nature, and high gastronomy.
The meeting, which took place at the Magna Pars complex, L'Hotel à Parfum, was aimed at presenting the Tenerife tourist proposal to the Italian market, structured around its natural spaces – including the Teide National Park and the rural parks of Anaga and Teno – and its cultural heritage in municipalities such as La Orotava, Icod de los Vinos, Garachico, Candelaria, or Masca.
Gastronomy thus consolidates itself as one of the axes of promotion of the destination, linking Canary products and traditions with contemporary culinary creations and a tourist offer based on high-quality experiences.
The Tourism Counselor in Milan, Blanca Pérez-Sauquillo, highlighted during the day the importance of conveying to the Italian public an image of the destination that integrates heritage, local culture, and lifestyle.
Likewise, the CEO of Tenerife Tourism, Dimple Melwani, emphasized the transformation of the island's tourism model towards proposals with greater added value that give visibility to the work of winemakers, artisans, and local producers.
The central axis of the presentation was the sensory lunch "Tenerife Experience," designed by chef Diego Schattenhofer (from the restaurant 1973 Taste, awarded a Michelin star) in collaboration with chef Cristian Capraro.
The experience combined resources from perfumery and gastronomy to evoke the aromas of lava, the sea, and native products, harmonized with a selection of wines with D.O. from the island.
