UNAV-Fetave calculates that the activity of travel agencies could increase between 8% and 10% in September compared to the same month last year, relying on the bookings that its associates have confirmed at this time. This advance would allow extending the good tone that has characterized the summer campaign.
Although closed data is still not available, the agencies integrated into UNAV-Fetave point out that the overall summer would have ended with an increase of between 5% and 6% compared to the same period in 2025.
The organization interprets that this evolution confirms that the interest in traveling remains high, although it detects changes in purchasing habits. The customer now shows greater price sensitivity, compares the available alternatives more carefully, and, in many cases, delays the confirmation of the trip to find better conditions, greater security, or proposals more in line with their budget.
This heightened attention to price coexists, however, with the intention not to give up on vacations. In this scenario, UNAV-Fetave emphasizes the role of agencies as a specialized channel for advice, searching for options, and guaranteeing adjustments to trips according to the needs and economic capacity of each user.
September consolidates its weight in the vacation calendar
The bookings already recorded allow predicting that the positive momentum of summer will continue into September, a month that is gaining relevance within the vacation calendar of Spaniards.
According to the latest data from ObservaTUR, around 17% of Spanish travelers choose September as the period for their vacations. The organization emphasizes that this month retains its appeal due to generally more competitive prices, a lower concentration of tourists, and milder temperatures.
This inclination is especially notable among older travelers, who particularly value the lower overcrowding and more comfortable travel conditions.
Imserso and Formula 1, additional engines for agencies
To the purely vacation demand, two other elements capable of generating extra business for agencies will be added in September: the launch of Imserso travel sales and the celebration in Madrid of the Spanish Grand Prix of Formula 1.
The marketing of Imserso trips will start in mid-September. This program constitutes one of the most relevant annual milestones for the agency channel and helps sustain tourist mobility outside of peak demand periods.
At the same time, Madrid will host the Spanish Grand Prix of Formula 1 in September, which returns to the capital after 45 years of absence. Forecasts point to an economic impact of 467 million euros and the arrival of more than 80,000 visitors from outside the Community of Madrid, of which about 45,000 would be international.
UNAV-Fetave also intervenes in the distribution of the event through the Madrid Federation of Travel Agencies (Femav), whose agencies market the official packages of the Grand Prix, with proposals that include tickets and accommodation for the dates of the race, as well as other complementary services.
The president of UNAV-Fetave, César Gutiérrez, has pointed out that all these factors allow facing September "with more favorable perspectives, even more optimistic than those recorded so far."
"Against the estimated growth of 5-6% of the summer campaign, current reservations allow projecting for the next month an advance of up to 10%," Gutiérrez has stated.
