The Secretary of State for Public Function, Consuelo Sánchez Naranjo, has emphasized that the extension of the electronic prescription agreed upon for the entire national territory constitutes "a milestone" that confirms the commitment of the General Mutuality of Civil Servants of the State (Muface) to digitalization.
She has stressed that technological innovation and the improvement of care for mutualists are the "axes of service quality," as expressed by this representative of the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function. Sánchez Naranjo has presided over the latest session of the General Council of Muface, held alongside its general director, Myriam Pallarés.
During the meeting, it was recalled that the electronic prescription makes it possible to connect the prescription systems of the entities and the pharmacies for the dispensing of medications, which translates into fewer administrative procedures for mutualists and a decrease in travel and in-person visits to the doctor. Additionally, this digital procedure facilitates rigorous monitoring and avoids potential fraud linked to paper support.
For several months now, mutualists also have the option to review their treatments issued via electronic prescription through the electronic headquarters of Muface or from the entity's mobile application. In this regard, Sánchez Naranjo has reiterated her willingness to continue promoting the modernization of administrative mutualism in order to turn it into "a more modern and sustainable organization."
New divisions and governance model
This internal reorganization "updates a structure of almost 30 years and directs it towards a simpler, more transparent governance model oriented towards service to mutualists, incorporating digital transformation structures, such as the Division of Information and Communication Technologies, or quality and data management, such as the Division of Territorial Coordination, Attention to Mutualists, Quality, and Data Exploitation," Pallarés has pointed out.
In the opinion of the general director, "it is, ultimately, about equipping the Mutuality with the necessary management tools to face current challenges." For this reason, the new organizational statute that will regulate this transformation stage of Muface has also been discussed in the session of the General Council.
