The Parliament has called on the Govern to launch and develop a family school focused on eating disorders (ED), integrated into the Strategic Plan for Emotional Well-being and Mental Health of Baleares.
The initiative has been approved in the Health Commission on the basis of a non-legislative proposal (PNL) presented by the PP, which has had the support of all the groups and the abstention of Vox and MÉS per Mallorca, as detailed by the Balearic Chamber.
The Parliament has asked the Govern to draw up a structured psychoeducational program supported by scientific evidence that provides families, teachers and caregivers with tools for the early detection of signs of relapse or decompensation, as well as guidelines for accompaniment during meals, emotional management and positive parenting strategies adapted to ED.
This section and the next two have gone through with the favorable vote of all the groups present, except Vox, which has chosen to abstain.
Likewise, the autonomous Executive has been urged to ensure effective intersectoral coordination between child and adolescent mental health teams, primary care centers and educational psychologists, in addition to facilitating referral and the ongoing training of all the professionals involved.
Lastly, the Chamber has asked to promote alliances between patient and family associations and third-sector entities, in order to create and consolidate mutual support groups on all the islands of the autonomous community.
In the same session, the Health Commission rejected another PNL, in this case from the PSIB, with votes against from the deputy for Formentera Llorenç Córdoba, Vox and the PP. This proposal urged the Govern to complete before the end of the year the head of department post and the medical inspection area head posts that remain unfilled.
Likewise, the Socialist text asked the Govern to guarantee assistance in Manacor, Inca and Menorca with the necessary frequency to attend to patients before the end of the year, as well as to immediately fill four vacant base inspector posts, out of the seven that currently make up the staff.
In addition, the PSIB was calling on the Govern to equalize the working conditions of civil servant medical inspectors with those of the area specialist physicians of the Health Service and to increase the amount of the per diems received by medical inspection professionals who travel to Manacor, Eivissa, and Menorca.
