The Israeli Army reported this Friday the death of a supposed "commander" of the armed wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), the Ezzedin al-Qassam Brigades, along with three other members of the organization in several airstrikes carried out on Thursday in the south of the Gaza Strip, despite the ceasefire agreed in October 2025 as part of the United States proposal regarding the future of the enclave.
"In a precision bombing launched on Thursday night, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet assassinated Muhamad Yazuri in the area of Khan Yunis, who was the commander of the Khan Yunis Brigade of Hamas's military wing in the Strip," the Army stated in a statement.
According to this note, Yazuri "was responsible for managing the activities of the brigade's terrorists and directing their activities when preparing and executing plans against the IDF and the State of Israel," before emphasizing that in the same operation Hudaifa Mamar, "company commander," and Muhamad Bahjat Rachi, "another terrorist of Hamas's military wing," also died.
In a subsequent announcement, the Israeli Army communicated in another brief text the death of the head of a sniper unit of Hamas's Rafah Brigade during a second Israeli bombing carried out the day before in the south of the Strip.
"The Israeli Army and the Shin Bet (internal intelligence service) attacked yesterday the area of Khan Yunis and eliminated the terrorist Moamen Jabr al Sayed Abu Labda, head of a sniper unit of the Rafah Brigade of the terrorist organization Hamas," it detailed.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) added that the latter was "carrying out training" at various points in Gaza to "harm Israeli civilians" and Israeli forces through new attacks, in addition to attempting to "restore Hamas's capabilities" in the territory. "He was neutralized in order to eliminate the threat he represented," it added.
The Ezeldín al Qasam Brigades have admitted the death of Muhamad Yazuri, although they have not provided information about the rest of the militia fighters killed in the bombings carried out in the enclave despite the ceasefire in effect. During this period, nearly 1,360 Palestinians have lost their lives in Israeli operations, according to the authorities in Gaza, who place the number of dead at 73,670 since the beginning of Israel's offensive following the attacks on October 7, 2023.
