King Felipe VI has held a meeting in Lima with the elected president of Peru, Keiko Fujimori, who will officially take office this Tuesday in an investiture ceremony to which the head of the Spanish State will attend.
The monarch landed this Monday at the Callao Air Base, in the Peruvian capital, where he was received by the current Chancellor of Peru, Carlos Pareja --who previously served as ambassador in Spain--, along with a Honor Cord made up of cadets from the Peruvian Air Force.
Accompanied by the Secretary of State for International Cooperation, Eva Granados, the King has presided over a reception at the Residence of the Ambassador of Spain directed to the Spanish community in the Andean country, in which actors from Spanish Cooperation, executives from Spanish companies, representatives from the cultural field and the media, as well as workers from the Cultural Center and Spanish officials assigned to international organizations have participated.
Later, at the Government Palace, Felipe VI was received by the Secretary of Security of the Government House of the Presidential Office, Rubén Edilberto Arenas, before holding a meeting with the current president of the Republic of Peru, José María Balcázar.
Subsequently, the King walked through several streets of downtown Lima until he arrived at the Torre Tagle Palace, where the elected president, Keiko Fujimori, was waiting for him. After the protocol greeting between the delegations, both held their first bilateral meeting.
Already late at night, the monarch is scheduled to attend the official dinner offered by Balcázar at the Government Palace.

This Tuesday, July 28, Felipe VI will attend the swearing-in ceremony and the assumption of supreme command of the new president, which will be held at the Museum of Congress and the Inquisition, in Lima. After the investiture, the King has been invited to the lunch that Fujimori will offer.
The Peruvian authorities expect that most of the heads of State and Government will arrive throughout the day today. After the King, the arrival of the president of Panama, José Raúl Mulino; of Paraguay, Santiago Peña; of Uruguay, Yamandú Orsi; of Chile, José Antonio Kast; of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa; of Honduras, Nasry Asfura; of Bolivia, Rodrigo Paz; and, finally, of the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, who will close the list of attending leaders, is expected.
