The authorities of Israel have conveyed this Monday their congratulations to the Bosnian Serb nationalist party Alliance of Independent Social Democrats, led by Milorad Dodik, for the "strong vote of confidence" expressed towards the Republic of Srpska and the policies promoted by Dodik, former president of this entity of Bosnia removed for disobeying the guidelines of the international institutions created after the peace agreements.
The Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, has made his message public through social media, addressing Dodik's party after the Bosnian general elections, in which the Bosnian Serb nationalist forces have consolidated their position.
"My sincerest congratulations to our friends, President Milorad Dodik, President Zeljka Cvijanovic, and the SNSD, for their resounding victory," stated the Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, in a message on social media referring to the Bosnian elections in which the Bosnian Serb nationalist forces emerged strengthened with 55.33% of the votes for the tripartite presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"This is a strong vote of confidence towards the Republic of Srpska and towards the leadership and policies of President Dodik. I look forward to continuing to strengthen our friendship and expand our bilateral cooperation," Saar assured.
The results of the elections held this Sunday have confirmed the dominance of the nationalist formations in the political scene of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the election of Denis Becirovic, Darijana Filipovic, and Zeljka Cvijanovic to integrate the tripartite presidency representing the Bosniak, Croatian, and Serbian communities, respectively.
