The president of Argentina, Javier Milei, is scheduled to travel to Spain on October 19. It will be the seventh time he sets foot on Spanish soil since he arrived at the Casa Rosada, and on this occasion, he will do so with the intention of supporting right-wing parties during the campaign for the early elections set for November 29.
The call for these early elections in Spain was one of the issues discussed this Monday during the Cabinet meeting held at the Casa Rosada, the seat of the Argentine Executive, along with the assessment of the first round of elections in Brazil.
According to sources from the Government cited by various Argentine media, Milei has chosen to fly to Madrid for "a series of activities" not yet detailed. However, it is taken for granted that he will take advantage of the trip to politically confront the Executive of Pedro Sánchez and show his support for his ideological allies in Spain.
In this context, everything points to him offering his support to his friend and reference of Vox, Santiago Abascal, with whom he has a greater ideological alignment, although it is also not ruled out that he will extend that support to the Popular Party.
With this new trip, Milei also seeks to reinforce his international projection and increase his capacity for influence in the electoral processes of other countries. "In the last 10 months, there have been seven elections in the region (...). All the candidates supported by President Milei won those elections," emphasized this Sunday the Argentine Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pablo Quirno.
