Once people have lost their lives and five others have been injured this Monday after a powerful explosion registered in a firecracker factory located in Kaushambi, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
According to authorities, the detonation occurred in the fireworks factory in the village of Manori and the injured were evacuated to SRN Hospital in Prayagraj. Five of them are in serious condition. All the fatalities resided in the vicinity of the plant.
The force of the explosion has caused the collapse of five nearby houses and has forced the interruption of rail traffic between Delhi and Howrah for an hour.
To address the emergency, a dozen fire trucks and two dozen ambulances have been deployed, while more than 50 personnel from the Air Force of Manori Air Base are also participating in the operation.
