The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed this Wednesday an operation by its Aerospace Forces against a bulk cargo ship and three fuel depots in the Ukrainian port town of Izmail, located in the Odesa region in the southwest of the country.
"Attack drones have attacked a bulk cargo ship in the port of Izmail, in the Odesa region, which was transporting military material to Ukraine and three fuel tanks intended for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as port infrastructure used for unloading military material," the ministry stated in a statement.
The announcement coincided with a phone conversation in which the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, expressed to his Egyptian counterpart, Bader Abdelati, his concern about the actions of the Ukrainian Army against civilian vessels and Russian energy facilities in the Black Sea.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Andri Sibiga, conveyed this Wednesday to his French counterpart, Jean-Noel Barrot, that Russia is "intensifying" attacks in the Black Sea, with direct consequences on Ukraine's economy during the ongoing grain collection campaign.
