The Russian Government reported this Wednesday that its forces have managed to take control of two more Ukrainian localities located in the provinces of Sumi and Zaporiyia, in the context of their military progress in the east of the country since the beginning of the invasion launched in February 2022.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia has detailed in several statements disseminated on social media that its units have occupied Nezhenka and Pisarevka, in Zaporiyia and Sumi, respectively, without providing data on possible casualties during the confrontations and without Kiev having reacted so far to these claims.
In recent months, Moscow has been announcing advances on the ground in eastern Ukraine, with special emphasis on the province of Donetsk, which —along with Lugansk, both integrated into the Donbas region— had already been the scene since 2014 of a conflict between pro-Russian separatists and Ukrainian government forces.
