The Russian authorities communicated this Wednesday new military advances in the Ukrainian province of Zaporiyia, reporting the occupation of two more localities within the framework of the invasion initiated in February 2022 by order of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia has detailed on its social media channels that the populations that have come under its control are Yulievka and Chervoni Yar, which are added to the recent capture of Timoshevka and Omélnik. For the moment, no data has been provided on possible casualties resulting from these confrontations.

Russia formalized in September 2022 the annexation of the partially occupied provinces of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson, and Zaporiyia, and since then has also managed to penetrate the regions of Kharkiv, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk. In addition, it annexed the Crimean peninsula back in 2014.
