The Houthi militias of Yemen announced this Sunday that they are responsible for the recent attacks carried out against the airports of Riyadh and Dammam, in Saudi Arabia, as well as against facilities of the Saudi state oil company Aramco, presented as retaliation for the "massacres" attributed to the Saudi aviation on Yemeni territory.
"In response to the brutal Saudi aggression against our country (...) the Armed Forces have carried out four operations in the last 24 hours with ballistic and cruise missiles and with drones," explained the military spokesperson for the Houthis, Yahya Sari, in an official statement.
The insurgent representative detailed that three attacks have been carried out against King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh since Friday afternoon. This offensive disrupted air traffic and "caused the total closure of the airport," according to Sari. Saudi authorities have confirmed twelve dead and more than 300 injured in this attack.
Additionally, the Houthis have reported an action against King Fahd International Airport, located in the city of Dammam, on the coast of the Persian Gulf. Authorities have acknowledged the fall of a projectile near the airfield, although they have not yet provided figures on possible victims or personal damages.
"We reiterate our warning to all international airlines, experts, workers, and travelers from around the world not to fly to Saudi airports because they are unsafe, except for the airports of the holy cities of Mecca and Medina," Sari warned.
Furthermore, the spokesperson for the Houthis reported an attack against the natural gas facilities of Shugadam, in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. "The attack has been precise, thanks to Allah, and has caused large fires at the site" owned by Aramco, Sari assured.
The Tanayib oil refinery of Aramco, also located in the Eastern Province, has also been hit. "The attack has also been precise, thanks to Allah, and has caused an explosion," Sari pointed out.
Finally, Sari noted that they have struck buildings in Ras al Ara and Al Saqiya with six ballistic missiles and two drones, an offensive that, according to his version, would have caused deaths and injuries among Saudi military forces.
The military spokesperson has emphasized that they will continue to intensify the "operations" on Saudi soil under the slogan "blockade for blockade" and "escalation for escalation," "until the aggression ceases and the siege on our people is lifted."
