Three women have been injured this Saturday in a knife attack at an educational center in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, according to police authorities. It is the third violent episode of this type recorded in a school in the country in just four days.

The spokesperson for the local Police, Jacek Wisniewski, explained to the Polish agency PAP that a 21-year-old student attacked three women —one of 24 years and two minors— with a knife at a training center located in the Praga district, when the victims were delivering documentation at the center's office.

One of the young women, 17 years old, was taken to the hospital with cuts on her forearms, although her life is not in danger. The other two affected, aged 17 and 24, received medical attention at the educational center itself.

According to the police statement, a worker at the center managed to disarm the alleged attacker and held her until the arrival of the agents, who proceeded to arrest her. The motive for the attack remains unclear, and the Police have indicated that the suspect had no prior relationship with the victims.

Investigators have emphasized that, for the moment, no evidence has been found linking this incident to two other knife attacks that occurred this same week in Polish schools.

On Thursday, a 37-year-old janitor died and two other people were injured in a knife attack carried out by a 15-year-old teenager at a school located about 70 kilometers northeast of Warsaw. On Wednesday, a 19-year-old young man injured nine people, two of them seriously, at a school in Ostroleka, less than 100 kilometers north of the capital.

In response to this wave of violence, the Police, following the instructions of Prime Minister Donald Tusk, have reinforced controls in educational centers and have reported the arrest of 76 people after the recent stabbings, after conducting nearly 50,000 inspections in school facilities across the country.

"Police operations are being carried out throughout Poland, with the aim of ensuring the safety of children, young people, and all staff of educational institutions," the local Police communicated in a post on their social media.

The IT department of the Polish Police analyzed whether any challenge on social media could be inciting young people to commit this type of attacks. However, on Friday the authorities indicated that they had not found evidence pointing to that trend.
