The president of the United States, Donald Trump, announced this Sunday his official support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of the Israeli legislative elections scheduled for October 27.

In a message disseminated on his social media, Trump praised the trajectory of the Israeli leader and emphasized his role in the confrontation with Iran. "Bibi (nickname) Netanyahu has been a great warrior prime minister and a great partner for peace fighting the Islamic Republic of Iran and its chants of 'Death to Israel! Death to the United States! We will destroy the Little Satan and the Great Satan' from 51 years ago," he stated.

The American president insisted that "it was a matter of time before Iran put that sinister phrase into practice," but defended that, after the attacks launched by the United States and Israel since February, "they have been systematically destroyed," both militarily and economically. "And we will finish the job quickly if they do not change course," he warned.

Trump also emphasized that "if Israel has the wrong leader, anyone other than Bibi, the United States would have to do the job alone and I am not inclined to do that," thus underscoring the importance he places on Netanyahu's continuity at the head of the Israeli government.

The president highlighted that the Israeli prime minister has been "strong, brave, and brilliant" even "in the face of opposition within Israel itself." In his opinion, "a normal person would have yielded under that pressure," but Netanyahu not only did not yield, "but has strengthened." "He has resisted and even prospered," he added.

Trump concluded his message with a strong defense of the Israeli leader: "This is the ally that the United States of America asks of Israel, a country for which we have done so much. Please let this letter serve to express my complete and total support for Bibi Netanyahu in his campaign for re-election as Prime Minister of Israel. Bibi Netanyahu will never let you down!".
