The death toll from the heavy floods that are hitting Istanbul has risen to five people, following the intense rains that began on October 14, according to the latest official count.

In recent hours, the lifeless body of a 30-year-old man of Turkmen nationality, identified as "Murat Babajanov," has been located, who had been missing after the rise of the Ayazaga River, located in the European part of the city.

The corpse was found in the estuary of the "Golden Horn," in the strait of the Bosphorus that crosses and divides Istanbul.

The governor of Istanbul, "Davut Gül," has confirmed the identification of this latest fatal victim and has stated that the search and rescue efforts for at least two other missing persons continue.
