The Ukrainian authorities have reported this Monday a new series of Russian attacks against various infrastructures in the Odesa region, which so far have left a balance of five people injured, coinciding with the commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the country's independence.
"Unfortunately, so far five injuries have been confirmed in the attacks on warehouses in the Odesa region. Three of them are hospitalized in moderate condition," reported the governor of Odesa, Oleh Kiper, in a message on his social networks, after he alerted early in the morning about a "massive attack with missiles and drones" from Russia against the region.
Kiper detailed that the main blow has concentrated on "food warehouses and energy infrastructure." "Damage to private homes was also recorded and fires occurred," added the regional official while describing the consequences of the bombings.
In this context, and on the same day, the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, has appealed for internal cohesion among the population at a moment he has described as "really difficult" due to the war initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2022. "There is a force that holds us firmly by the hand, and it is actually not invisible at all. It is the strength of our mutual support circle: the support among us, the absence of doubts about the person next to us, the faith in all Ukrainians," emphasized the leader.
