In recent hours, Ukrainian drones have struck the Bashneft oil refinery complex, located in the Russian region of Bashkortostan, more than 1,500 kilometers from the border line between both countries, while Moscow responds with new bombardments on Ukraine's electrical grid.
Sources familiar with the operation have told the news agency Bloomberg that the Ukrainian drones have reached these facilities, although at the moment there is no official confirmation either from the Russian authorities or from the parent company of the refineries, "Rosneft PJSC".
In this area three major refineries are concentrated, "Novoil", "Ufimski" and "Ufaneftejim", whose combined processing capacity exceeds 470,000 barrels per day, which is equivalent to about 23.5 million tons annually.
On Friday, Ukraine had already attacked a significant "Rosneft PJSC" refinery in Samara, in what is considered the first confirmed attack against a Russian plant of this type in the last two weeks. This strike coincided with the call by the U.S. president, "Donald Trump", to avoid attacks against Russian refineries. Until now, Kyiv seemed mainly focused on factories, data and logistics centers, chemical facilities and airports.
In addition, this Saturday Kyiv has launched missiles against the "Kamenski" plant, in the Rostov region, as confirmed by the Ukrainian Army. According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, rocket fuel is produced at these facilities.
In parallel, Russia maintains its campaign of attacks against Ukrainian critical infrastructure, including Black Sea ports, electrical grids, bridges and railways. Russian Shahed drones have hit a power plant in Kyiv and, in Dnipro, several substations have been damaged. Moscow says it has struck transport infrastructure used by Ukrainian forces, as well as drone and ground robot storage centers, ammunition depots and launch points.
