The United States Department of State stated this Monday that "it condemns the criminal violence from any side in the West Bank" and has demanded "investigations, arrests, and convictions for those responsible," after the attack carried out on Saturday by Israeli settlers against four members of a team from the American network NBC News and a Palestinian woman they were interviewing in the West Bank town of Yalud.

U.S. diplomacy has emphasized "having no greater priority than the safety of Americans" and has highlighted that it maintains "a constant dialogue" with its partners with the aim of "improving stability and security in the West Bank."
The NBC team —made up of a journalist, a host, a cameraman, and a producer— was attacked while conducting an interview with a 51-year-old Palestinian woman. "They hit us and jumped at the car," reported journalist Matt Bradley, who suffered two impacts to an arm. The interviewee, the Palestinian Aida Ahmed Abdulá, lay on the ground after the assault and had to be attended to by personnel from the Palestinian Red Crescent.
