The president of China, Xi Jinping, is scheduled to travel this Sunday to Kyrgyzstan to attend the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) before continuing his trip to Egypt as part of a state visit, according to Chinese authorities.
In an official note, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China has indicated that Xi plans to hold a meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart, Sadir Japarov, during the celebration of the SCO summit, which will take place in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
Subsequently, the Chinese leader will travel to Egypt, where he is expected to meet with the president of the African country, Abdelfattah al-Sisi, with whom he hopes to discuss matters of international relevance, including the conflict in the Middle East. The leader's foreign tour will conclude on September 3, according to this information.
