The president of the PP of Catalonia, Alejandro Fernández, has stated that the political change in Spain "is closer than ever" and that it will materialize with the hand of the popular leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo.
He predicted this on Sunday during an event of the Catalan PP held in the Turó Caritg park in Badalona (Barcelona), where Feijóo himself and the mayor of the locality, Xavier García Albiol, also spoke.
Fernández emphasized that they will not hesitate to act to guarantee security, order, and freedom, and stressed that a cohesive and strong Spain "is going to eat the world."
"All of this will be possible because we are not afraid of anything or anyone, because when you have the Spaniards by your side, you should not be afraid of anything," he stated, adding that the PP will not hesitate to modify what does not work and preserve what unites.
Ceuta and migration policy
In his speech, Fernández also addressed the migration situation in Ceuta: "It is absolutely unbearable for us to see our compatriots humiliated and abandoned by those who should defend and protect them, that is, the Government."
He defended that Ceuta is part of Spain and emphasized that the PP will "never abandon" the citizens of Ceuta, considering that the most sacred priority of any public official is to protect the population, as, in his opinion, Albiol does in Badalona.
Albiol claims changes in Badalona
For his part, Xavier García Albiol has emphasized that they are "transforming" the city and has pointed out that there are reasons to face the future of Badalona with determination and hope.
The mayor has admitted that there is still work to be done, but he has insisted that there are issues that "cannot be changed from a city council" and that require legal reforms and new instruments from the State.
For this reason, he has called on Feijóo that, if he reaches the Presidency of the Government, he promotes a legislative reform that allows acting "with guarantees" against illegal occupation and that combats recidivism, considering it unacceptable that a person with more than 10 crimes can remain free.
In this line, he has defended the need for a legal framework that enables a "much more forceful" judicial response to this type of crime.
Even so, he has celebrated that crime in Badalona is decreasing above the average of Catalonia, although he has warned that they are not settling: "One thing are the statistics and another very different are the realities".
