The head of the list of Junts for Barcelona in the general elections, Miriam Nogueras, has stated that her party has demonstrated that, when it has had the necessary strength, it has been able to "condition and influence everything that happens in Madrid."

In an appearance this Sunday in Barcelona, she defended Junts as "the only party of strictly Catalan obedience that is running in these elections" and emphasized that it is the only force that, in her opinion, has not been dragged by the extremes.

"We are the ones in the middle," she stressed, insisting that having a strong Junts is what, according to her, allows Catalonia to have more political weight and for the voice of Catalans to be heard.

She pointed out that "we have always done it by putting the interests and benefits of the citizens of Catalonia first and being able to stop the two Spanish blocks that are increasingly being dragged by the extremes," thus positioning her party as a brake on polarization.

Finally, she emphasized that her priority, above the ideological blocks, is the defense of the interests of Catalonia: "Some go to Madrid to obey and to be servile. We are going to defend the interests of Catalonia."
