The president of the Generalitat and first secretary of the PSC, Salvador Illa, has lashed out at the visits made this week to Catalonia by the leaders of the PP and Vox, Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Santiago Abascal, whom he has accused of traveling solely for electoral purposes: "You did not come when it was necessary to defend coexistence in Catalonia. You come to seek votes."
"And we tell you: What project do you have for Catalonia? None, right? Well, at least do not hinder those of us who have a project, like President Sánchez and the Catalan socialists. Get out of the way," he stated this Sunday during the Festa de la Rosa of the PSC in Gavà (Barcelona).
In the presence of the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, Illa has criticized Feijóo's stance on issues such as the Amnesty Law, the reform of the autonomous financing system, the official status of Catalan, Galician, and Basque in the EU, and the distribution of minors from Ceuta: "Catalonia is clear: no to Abascal, no to Feijóo, and no to Aznar, and yes to Sánchez."
