The general secretary of the PSOE of Andalusia and number two of the party at the national level, María Jesús Montero, has made a call this Monday to the Spanish citizenry to go to the polls on November 29 and "participate" in the general elections and "decide" between "advancing or going backward" after those elections.

The also deputy general secretary of the federal PSOE has spread this message on her account on the social network X, after the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, announced this Monday the advance of the general elections to November 29.

In her publication on X, Montero has emphasized that "On November 29, Spain decides much more than a Government: it decides the direction in which it wants to walk," insisting that "Pedro Sánchez has expressed it clearly: we are betting on advancing or going backward."

According to the leader of the Andalusian PSOE, in that appointment with the polls "two different models of understanding the economy, public services, rights, and housing will be confronted." She contrasted "Between those who understand housing as an asset to speculate with and those of us who defend that it is, above all, a right."

Montero has also pointed out that in the elections of November 29, there will be a choice "between a model that leaves the ground free for vulture funds, large holders, and those who have turned the need for a home into a business opportunity, and a progressive project that wants to intervene wherever necessary to protect people."

She has warned of the consequences of high housing prices by recalling that "Because behind every impossible price are young people who cannot emancipate, families who allocate an unbearable part of their income to rent, and workers who, even having a salary, cannot access housing."

The socialist leader has also emphasized that "housing cannot be the business of a few at the expense of the anguish of many," stressing that "there is also the choice: speculation or right; business or housing; advancing or going backward."

Montero has concluded her reflection on X pointing out that "Now it is up to the citizenry to compare, decide, and participate. Because each election marks a course. And the future is never built from indifference."
