The spokesperson for Junts in Congress, Miriam Nogueras, has again defended this Monday that Catalonia should be excluded from the distribution of migrant minors who arrived in Ceuta on July 30, arguing that the Catalan protection system is already at its limit and that Catalonia is the community that has received "always" the most.
"We have on the table a royal decree that is already approved and negotiated with Junts per Catalunya, which is this much more equitable distribution for the different autonomous communities. Therefore, there is no need to negotiate anything, the work is already done," she stated in an interview on "3CatInfo" reported by Europa Press when asked if the party is maintaining conversations with the Government on this matter.
She emphasized the difference between the structural places available in Catalonia and the so-called assistance extension, which implies continuing to provide support to young people who have turned 18 and remain in the system.
Furthermore, she labeled the president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, as "irresponsible" for, in her opinion, prioritizing the interests of Pedro Sánchez over those of Catalonia by showing support for the distribution of these migrants among the communities.
"Mr. Illa has been governing for two years and we have public services more strained than ever. Never in life have so few resources arrived in Catalonia," she denounced, adding that, in her opinion, it is Junts who is doing "the work of the Govern" in Madrid.
Delegation of powers in immigration
Regarding the delegation of powers in immigration matters to the Generalitat, Nogueras has maintained that Catalonia "can" take on this management because it has its own police force, and she recalled that already in 2019 her party put on the table what it considers a fundamental demographic problem.
"When there are problems and there are no solutions, discomfort is generated. And when there is discomfort, extremes appear. And our responsibility is to be able to provide solutions, because if we solve a problem, the extremes run out of narrative. And if they run out of narrative, they run out of votes," she pointed out, referring to Aliança Catalana.
She also criticized that the Government has promoted the regularization of migrants "through the back door" and assured that, had it been put to a vote in Congress, Junts would have voted against.
Debate on autonomous financing
On the new proposal for autonomous financing, the leader of Junts has questioned whether this is the proposed formula when, according to her, there is "a social majority" in Catalunya in favor of a model of Catalan economic concert, and urges ERC and PSC to support it in Congress.
"Why is what is on the table a proposal that only consolidates a system, which is what exists today, that does not work, that is not good for Catalunya?" she has raised.
Fiscal Criticisms and "Normalization of Decadence"
In an article on "X" reported by Europa Press, the post-convergent leader has reproached PSC and ERC for agreeing to "not touch taxes" by not deflating the IRPF.
"When it has been put to a vote, against the entire middle and working class of the country, the left has fortified itself so that no tax reduction prospers. And while families are crunching numbers to make ends meet, the State is breaking all records for collection," she has stated.
She has assured that in 2018 (the first year of the socialist government) the State collected 208.685 billion in taxes, while in 2025 it collected 325.356 billion (almost 56% more) and that, only via IRPF, the Treasury obtained 142.466 billion euros in 2025, 10.1% more than in 2024: "Since Pedro Sánchez arrived at Moncloa, the State collects much more, but the middle class lives worse."
In this line, she has accused the PSOE of normalizing "decadence" by assuming low wages or difficulties in paying rent as normal, and has lamented that 2.7 million people in the State depend on the minimum vital income (IMV).
