The secretary of Political Action of EH Bildu, Arkaitz Rodríguez, has reiterated his rejection of violence as "a way to confront fascism" and has defended the need to promote "peaceful and democratic, but firm" mobilizations.

During a political event held in Hernani, in which he was accompanied by the lead candidate of EH Bildu for Congress from Gipuzkoa, Oihana Etxebarrieta, Rodríguez has encouraged people to fill the streets next November 14 in the demonstration called under the slogan "Badatorren Euskal Herria defendatu", with the aim of "defending Euskadi from the future". He has appealed to those who have backed strikes in favor of a public care system, to those who have mobilized alongside the feminist movement, to those who demand their own SMI, to those who "have raised their voice" for Palestine or want to "live in Euskera in their town" and support the right of Basque society to decide its future.

Rodríguez has also addressed, "you, who watched with concern and annoyance the disturbances the other day in Bilbao, who are clear that this is not the way to confront fascism, who are clear that the most effective response to fascism is none other than massive, cross-cutting, peaceful and democratic, but firm responses", stressing that that is the path that, in his opinion, must be followed.

In this line, he has called to attend the mobilization scheduled in Bilbao on November 14 "to stop the reactionary bloc, to open a path for this people and also to send a very clear message to that reactionary bloc: there are many more of us, we are stronger, we are united and, for this people, you will not pass".

The EH Bildu leader has taken advantage of his intervention to also call for participation in the strike called for November 11 in defense of housing and to "fill" the ballot boxes with EH Bildu votes on November 29, the date of the next general elections.

According to him, "it is the precarization, the impoverishment of broad popular strata that fatten the far right". For this reason, he has insisted that "the antidote against the far right and the reactionary bloc is to raise wages, pensions, guarantee decent working and living conditions, and access to a worthy housing and strong public services".
