The president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has requested to intervene in the Plenary of Congress to give details about the actions of the Executive "in relation to the events that occurred in Ceuta since the past day July 30," according to sources from the Government.
The request from the head of the Executive comes just a few hours before the Permanent Deputation of Congress addresses this Wednesday the initiative from the PP, which demands the urgent appearance of Sánchez in a plenary session to explain the migration crisis in Ceuta. In that same proposal, the 'popular' also suggest that ten other ministers be called, including the eight who already have a scheduled appearance in committee in the Lower House.
The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration and also spokesperson for the Government, Elma Saiz, stated this Tuesday that the president will attend "of course" to Congress to account for the migration crisis in Ceuta, although she avoided specifying when that appearance will take place.
