Sumar has registered a request for the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, to appear before the Permanent Deputation of the Congress in order to offer explanations about the railway accident that occurred in Urda (Toledo).

The initiative has been made known through a social media message by the Frente Amplio candidate, Ada Colau, whose electoral coalition presents itself as the political successor to Sumar, the space that represents the minority wing of the Government.

The former mayor of Barcelona has stressed that in moments "so painful" as that of this railway accident, it is "more necessary than ever transparency and for all the explanations that are necessary to be given".

In the same vein, the federal coordinator of IU, Antonio Maíllo, has also pointed out on social media that Frente Amplio "is going to demand maximum transparency" regarding the Urda accident.

"An independent audit must be carried out to analyze the condition of the railway network. We will demand full information and the technical and political responsibilities that arise from it. Without hesitation," Maíllo has emphasized.

Already this Wednesday, Frente Amplio called for political responsibilities to be clarified after the accident, considering it "unacceptable" that two serious railway accidents are repeated in the same year.
