The Deputy Secretary of Autonomous Policy, Municipal and Electoral Analysis of the PP, Elías Bendodo, has denounced that the central Executive "has not made a single warning" regarding the future electric vehicle plant of the Chinese company SAIC in Ferrol.
These statements were made at a press conference in Barcelona, in light of the existence of reports from the Ministry of Defense and intelligence services that warn of a possible risk of espionage due to the proximity between the planned location for the factory, the military arsenal of Ferrol, and the Navantia shipyard, where work is done with U.S. military systems.
"If it poses any risk to national security, the Government of Spain must say so, and certainly no one has shared any information about this with us or with the Government of Galicia," emphasized the popular leader, insisting on the absence of explanations from the Executive.
"It is nothing extraordinary"
Bendodo has stressed that the arrival of car factories of Chinese origin to the European continent is "nothing extraordinary" and has reminded that the determination of the exact point where it will be located in the port of Ferrol is the exclusive competence of the central Government.
For his part, the Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Function, Óscar López, has publicly supported the industrial project and has expressed confidence that it will move forward while respecting national security at all times, rejecting the possibility of halting or discarding this investment.
