Leaders of the PP have reacted in cascade this Tuesday after the confrontation between the Government Delegation in Madrid and the City Council of the capital regarding the concentration planned for this Wednesday in Cibeles.
At the last hour of the afternoon, the City Council headed by the 'popular' José Luis Martínez-Almeida communicated that the Delegation, led by the socialist Francisco Martín, had not given the green light to the concentration in Cibeles.
Shortly after, the agency dependent on Sánchez's Executive responded to that version and specified that it cannot process the act called for this Wednesday in support of Ceuta as a concentration because the local Administration does not hold the right of assembly, which falls on individuals.
Even so, the Delegation has left open the possibility for the City Council to organize "within its competencies" the institutional acts that it "deems appropriate".
In parallel, PP officials have taken the opportunity to attack the central Government and denounce what the Secretary General of the Popular Party, Miguel Tellado, has labeled as an "obstacle" from "the autocrat Sánchez".
"The Spaniards want to go out to support the Ceutíes and we are going to do it overwhelmingly throughout Spain. No matter how many obstacles the autocrat Sánchez puts in place," Tellado reiterated in one of the numerous messages he has spread about this issue on the social network 'X'.
The 'popular' leader has questioned whether it is the Minister of the Presidency and Relations with the Cortes, Félix Bolaños, who "instigates" the Government delegates to "try to boycott the concentrations in defense of Ceuta." "We will end up knowing," Tellado has predicted.
In another message, the Secretary General of the PP has emphasized that "who has prohibited the concentration in support of Ceuta in Madrid" is "the same Government delegate who praised Bildu's services to Spain." "Their meanness defines them," he concluded.
Feijóo and the PP leadership raise the tone
For his part, the president of the party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has stated that the central Executive "is afraid" that "Spain will speak".
In the same vein, the spokesperson for the formation in the Senate, Alicia García, has considered that this clash is "one more reason" to attend the concentrations in the squares of the town halls this Wednesday. She added that the PP will not only support Ceuta but also "freedom and democracy." "They will not silence us," she emphasized.
In similar terms, the Deputy Secretary of Culture and spokesperson for the PP, Borja Sémper, has stated that "it will be necessary to swear that all this has happened."
The Deputy Secretary of Education and Equality of the PP, Jaime de los Santos, has maintained that the members of the Government "did not prevent the invasion because they did not want to" and "do not help the Ceutí people because they don't feel like it," to conclude that they are now seeking to "silence with their infamous totalitarianism." "They have no limits, nor shame," he has condemned.
The controversy between both administrations has also provoked a reaction from the Community of Madrid. Its president and leader of the regional PP, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has reproached the Government delegate that "he does not have the guts to send us the riot police."
