The secretary general of Vox, Ignacio Garriga, denounced this Saturday the "migratory invasion" that, in his view, Canarias is suffering as a consequence of a "negligent" Government. He warned that if Vox "has enough strength" after the next elections on November 29, "all people in an irregular situation in Spain will be returned to their countries of origin".
In statements to the media before taking part in an event with supporters in Gran Canaria, Garriga accused the migration policies of the Socialist Party of having "condemned families and workers to having to live amid insecurity, to feeling like strangers in their own neighborhoods and cities, and to feeling unsafe at certain hours".
According to what he explained, "many neighbors whom I have been able to meet this morning live near the Canarias 50 immigrant detention center. They share that they can no longer even sleep, that they cannot go to the parks with their children, because they are taken over by drug dealing and crime," the secretary general of Vox asserted.
Along these lines, he stressed that the commitment of his party is "clear" and that, if the party "obtains sufficient strength" after the electoral appointment of November 29, "all those people who are in an irregular situation will be returned to their countries of origin", in addition to the fact that "never, under any circumstances, will any type of mass regularizations be promoted, as the Governments of Spain have carried out in recent years".
"All those who have come to live off the effort of the Spaniards will be returned to their countries of origin. And all those who are among us, but who commit crimes, will go to serve prison sentences in their countries of origin," Garriga reiterated, calling for a "common-sense migration policy".
Likewise, he called for Canarias to stop being "the gateway" for "mass immigration", and for it not to continue being "the nerve center of the mafias and human trafficking".
In Gran Canaria, Vox defended the need to "recover security and tranquility" in the neighborhoods and streets of the archipelago, those in which, "a few years ago", the Canarians could "enjoy with absolute tranquility".
Finally, Garriga has called for "an unprecedented mobilization" next 29N, in an election day that, he said, must be "like never before has occurred in Spain", not only "to evict the PSOE and Pedro Sánchez from the Government, but also to expel all the harmful policies that the Government of Spain has promoted".
