The head of the Vox delegation in the European Parliament, Jorge Buxadé, has announced that the idea of 'national priority' and a "reduction of the State," with a "brutal reduction of ministries," will be part of possible conversations with the PP if both formations achieve a majority after the general elections on November 29.
In an interview on "RNE," reported by Europa Press, Buxadé emphasized that Vox will bring 'national priority' to the table in possible negotiations for a coalition government with the PP, just as has already been done in the autonomous governments where they govern together. "It is a political idea of common sense and is the guarantee of the social State," he highlighted.
The MEP warned that the social State "that our elders and our parents have built is in a state of collapse," insisting that public resources and available money are "scarce" and it is essential to set distribution criteria.
As he stated, "so far the criterion being applied is that the last one to arrive takes it all. And we understand that another criterion must be applied in the distribution of public goods that are, unfortunately, scarce," Buxadé expressed, who at the same time wanted to value the "foreigner who resides, works, and contributes" in Spain and who, of course, "neither commits crimes nor lives off public aid."
Cutting ministries and administrative structures
Buxadé has also demanded a "brutal reduction of ministries and all administrative structures" of the current Sánchez Executive which, in his view, has broken "all records in history" by placing people with "finger contracts."
In his opinion, it is unacceptable that "the State administration has multiplied by a thousand" while "Spaniards are struggling to fill their shopping basket." In his view, "the State must be reduced, we must manage better (...) the money of Spaniards belongs to Spaniards," he reiterated, defending the need for a "major restructuring of ministerial departments," in which it is evaluated "who has done good things and who has done bad things."
To conclude, Buxadé has disconnected the recent understanding with the PP in the Senate from hypothetical conversations to form a government at the state level. "It was an act of responsibility, of high-mindedness, in the face of the coalition set up by Pedro Sánchez with the most extremist left of Europe," he has concluded.
