The Ministry of Rural Development, Livestock, Fishing and Food of the Government of Cantabria plans to request this Friday, September 11, just over 1.8 million euros intended for farmers and ranchers in the community, linked to various support lines of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
According to the regional Executive, this disbursement will serve, on one hand, to close the files that were still being processed due to various incidents detected in previous phases and, on the other hand, to make a complementary payment to the recipients of the Basic Income Aid for Sustainability (ABRS) and the eco-schemes, once the final amounts and coefficients are set.
The most relevant novelty of this payment lies in the incorporation of the increase from the final surplus to the Basic Income Aid for Sustainability, which is specified in a definitive increase coefficient of 3.63 percent on said aid.
At the same time, the final amounts of the eco-schemes are reviewed, after applying the definitive unit amounts approved for extensive grazing practices, sustainable mowing, biodiversity islands, direct sowing, crop rotation, and biodiversity spaces.
The minister in charge, María Jesús Susinos, has emphasized in a note that this new payment "demonstrates the commitment of the Government of Cantabria to the primary sector and to the proper management of European funds allocated to the farms of the autonomous community."
"With this payment we complete the regularization of files that were pending and we convey to our farmers and ranchers the definitive increase of the aids, ensuring that they receive in full the amounts that correspond to them," she pointed out.
In addition, Susinos has stressed that these economic injections represent an "essential support" for the profitability and sustainability of the farms, since, as she has reiterated, the aim is for the aids to be paid "as quickly as possible and contribute to strengthening the economic viability of the farms."
