The 'president' of the Generalitat, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, has emphasized that the generational change and the updating of water infrastructures are "key" to ensure the future of the primary sector in the Comunitat Valenciana.

This was expressed this Thursday at the inauguration event of the new headquarters of AVA-ASAJA in Castelló de la Plana, where he stressed that the agricultural and livestock sector "is a hallmark of the Comunitat Valenciana, so it is the obligation of the administrations to help ensure that it is not lost because the future of this land depends on its agri-food sector."

In this line, the head of the Consell has emphasized that the work of the Generalitat "is to guarantee that young people can continue with an activity that is essential for our future." He has also insisted on the urgency of having water infrastructures "prepared to store water and resistant to rains and storms" with the aim of ensuring an essential resource for the Valencian countryside.

During his speech, Pérez Llorca highlighted that there is "a joint claim between the Generalitat and agricultural associations for our products to compete on equal terms," and for this reason, he reiterated his request to the European Union to adopt a specific labeling system for community products that "distinguish the quality of our products."

Likewise, he has highlighted the importance of cooperation between public administrations and professional agricultural organizations to "respond to the real needs of the sector," while recognizing the relevance of entities like AVA-ASAJA, which "represent, advise, provide training, and convey the concerns of the agricultural sector to the administrations."
