The local product voucher campaign, promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment, has already surpassed the threshold of one million euros in purchase operations, even though it has not yet reached its final phase.

As of this Tuesday, 49,786 vouchers have been redeemed, 55 percent of those issued, with which 12,267 acquisitions have been made for a total amount of 1,074,344 euros.

From the Government they have specified in a press release that, although the campaign is still in its halfway point, twice as many vouchers have already been used as on the same dates of the previous year.

"This increase is also explained because this year the initiative has grown significantly, both in terms of the number of participating establishments and producers, and in the volume of vouchers put into circulation," they have emphasized.

After the first batch of vouchers sold out in numerous shops during the first days of the campaign, all participating operators now have active vouchers again thanks to a new distribution by the Ministry. The campaign will remain operational until August 7.

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment, Joan Simonet, has remarked that "local product vouchers have consolidated as a very effective tool for bringing consumers closer to our producers and encouraging direct purchase."

Simonet has added that "this initiative not only helps agricultural holdings increase their sales, but also strengthens the link between producers and consumers, highlights local products, and contributes to strengthening our primary sector."

For her part, the manager of Sa Cooperativa del Camp, Tònia Bosch, has explained that the vouchers they initially received "sold out in just two days." "We were eagerly awaiting this replenishment," she highlighted.

Bosch has stressed that this campaign "is a great help" because it facilitates visibility for products, increases turnover, and "encourages many consumers to buy directly from producers."

Sa Cooperativa del Camp de Menorca, the venue this Tuesday for the presentation of the data, is part of the 139 establishments participating in the campaign, in which 120 producers from the Balearic Islands are involved.

This year, the initiative shows notable progress compared to the previous edition, with 139 participating shops (39 more than in 2025) and 120 producers involved, 33 more than last year.

Likewise, the campaign has an allocation of 909,250 euros and offers consumers 90,925 ten-euro vouchers, a much higher amount than in the previous edition, according to the Conselleria.

The proposal is integrated into the decree-law that includes urgent and extraordinary measures to address the international economic impact derived from the war in the Middle East, with the aim of boosting domestic consumption of local products, promoting direct sales, and directly supporting the primary sector of the Balearic Islands.
