The Port of Vigo is preparing to host once again an edition of the Festa do Marisco. In its XIX edition, the event will take place over eight days, spread across the weekends of August 27 to 30 and September 3 to 6.
This has been explained by its promoters during the official presentation, emphasizing that this year will be a "historic" event as the days of celebration will be extended and it aims to gather more than 50,000 visitors.
The manager of the Association of Fish Marketers of the Port of Vigo (Acopevi), Mar Amate, has highlighted the "ambitious" nature of this gastronomic event, which will serve as a prelude to the 2027 edition, when the 20th anniversary will coincide with the 50th birthday of the Association itself.
In this context, she wanted to highlight the work that Acopevi does to bring the highest quality seafood to the tables of the people of Vigo, the whole of Galicia, and visitors from anywhere in the world.
The organization of the festival will have the support of the Port Authority of Vigo, the Xunta de Galicia, the City Council of Vigo, the Provincial Council of Pontevedra, and the Free Zone.
Institutional spokespersons have emphasized the relevance of this celebration to exalt a "quality" product like Galician seafood and, at the same time, to recognize the contribution of the entire fishing sector.
