The Department of Rural Environment and Agricultural Policy has put out to tender the works to condition the road that connects Setienes and Piedrafita, in the council of Valdés, for an amount of 321,866 euros. From the regional government, they have emphasized that the intervention, with a planned execution period of five months, will serve to improve the circulation conditions and the safety of this 1.3-kilometer road, which is heavily trafficked both by professionals in the agricultural sector and by the general population.

The action will strengthen the connection between both localities and facilitate access to several farms for agricultural and livestock use, which will allow for the acceleration of daily movements.

The project includes the widening of the roadway to achieve a minimum width of four meters in the sections that require it, as well as the renewal of the pavement to eliminate potholes and cracks. Cleaning and clearing work on the margins will also be carried out, as well as the conditioning of the edges and various earthworks.

Additionally, the installation of new pipes and the improvement of longitudinal drainage through the construction of concrete ditches is planned. The work also includes the execution of a riprap to stabilize a subsidence, the adaptation of access to adjacent farms, and the installation of signage elements and safety barriers.

Companies interested in undertaking these works may submit their offers until the next November 4 at the headquarters of the department.
